Increase the solubility of Ti in Mg?

Hello guys i am trying to make MG-TI alloy.And the persentage of TI in Mg is almost zero its very little.
So do you guys know any element which can be add to the Mg-Ti system? so the increase the slublity of TI in MG ?

I'm trying to think of a third metallic element that won't be extinguished once it starts to burn. That should do the trick!

But seriously, what benefit do you see in a titanium magnesium alloy? And if it isn't currently in use anywhere, is there a reason for that?

Thanks for your reply. What you think about Al, V, Cr, Co, Ag, Sn, Mo, Ni. Isn't they're useful in MG ?

One of the main problems that Model Engineers face is finding the best stuff available for an application at a sensible price. So, we tend not to get involved in new recipes for alloys, which inevitably are completely untested and so may not have any desirable characteristics. I suggest that this may show that you are not looking in the most helpful place, John.

Without information relating to the intended application it's hard to make any suggestions, is it this kind of thing you're trying to make –

Do you have an inert gas atmosphere furnace? I doubt you'll reach the required temperatures without.

Melting magnesium and titanium and possibly another metal together doesn't sound to me like something you want to be doing without the proper facilities and knowledge and experience of working safely with molten highly reactive metals!

You should smelt them under argon. You need to construct dedicated furnace for it. Crucible from magnesia (MgO) is best for the job. Load crucible with mixture of pieces of metals in right proportion. Temperatures in range 1000*C.

If both oxygen and nitrogen are excluded, titanium should dissolve in molten Mg.

Your alloy in all probabilities will be useless (issues with grain size, impurities etc). There is much more in metallurgy than smelting few elements together and hoping for the best.
