Sell the aluminium roll door Hardware you want. They are wholesalers tell them you are a small cabinetmaker they should supply you.
Also Ikea do for their kitchens (Expensive) However they sometimes have office furniture with aluminium Roll doors. I have seen bread bins with roll doors?
If you have a bulk office furniture supplier (Like Officeworks in Australia) They sell small cupboards with roll doors.
None of the above is that cheap and maybe the scale is a bit big?
As an alternative make a wooden door like you find on some old roll top desks. They are easy to make!
Just get some half round strapping or some rectangular strapping for shelving say 19mm wide x 5mm thick with two edges rounded to make the face. Cut to the required width then sand, stain and lacquer the slats before assembly.
Place a piece of light canvas say 20mm narrower than your finished slats on backing board covered in polythene (White glue will not stick to it) generously spread glue on the canvas. the backing board should have two spaced retaining strips the width of your doo temporarily tacked to it also one end should be closed off.
Place the timber slats face up on the glued canvas spaced touching each other. I would give the back of the slats a light coat of glue also but do not let it run down between the slats or you will have made a fixed panel!
You will need to make a slightly larger pull for the bottom Maybe 10mm by 25 or whatever size to like It normally sits forward you have to reduce the ends to 5mm to fit in your track. This should be the first piece placed against the end.
You will need to rout a track in the sides of your garage for the door to run in. You can check the minimum radius and the thickness of the slot needed for the door to slide when you have made the panel.
I think I have covered it all it is easier to do than describe.
I guess you could use the same process with aluminium, But the glue would have to be tested to be compatible. In that case maybe contact adhesive would be better Hmmm not my favourite glue.
Regards
John
