Has anyone ever made a watch on one of these?

I was browsing through the delights of ebay and found another Adept (cue fistfight in the replies). Seeing the watchmakers part of the title I was curious if anyone has been able to make a clock with one of these.

If anyone wants to do an Adept imrpovment project then it is easy enough to find on ebay. :^)

The answer is at least one person did. A Mr LVP Clarke rebuilt his Adept for watchmaking. The article was published in ME back in July 17th 1947.

Not just that one but half a dozen if you search "clockmakers lathe".

Given that more than one series in ME featured the little bar bed Unimat it should be perfectly possible.

It might be interesting to get someone actually demonstrating the build at Sandown on the SMEE stand.

My covert attempt to get more people to look at the Adept lathe I am trying to flog has resulted in me discovering someone else has seen my listing and decided to undercut me by exactly one penny! Cheeky bugger.

On the good side someone else is listing one for £195 which makes me look reasonable in comparison.
