      Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone here has experience using a Harrison lathe with the hydraulic copier? Such as the ones here: http://www.lathes.co.uk/harrison/page6.html

My lathe has its fitted, and theoretically in working order though I've never had reason to try before, and really not sure where to start, and there seems to be very little readily available information out there about it, and it's entirely glossed over in the lathe's manual.

      Thanks in advance!

      Tom.

If you have access to the archive, there was an article in MEW167 by Andrew Johnston on the fitting and using of such an attachment

Hi Tom I have used one of these but the first thing you have to have is a template or sample between centres. Have you tried to operate it yet, dose it have all the parts stylus to match the tooling you are going to turn with etc. If you power it up you should be able to push against the control stem at the back of the lathe and see it operate with the in out control in different positions i.e. boring or outside turning. When you understand how it works it should become easier to use. put a few pictures on the site may be useful.

            David
