Can anyone give me a UK supplier of graphite or PTFE packing yarn.

Try Reeves 2000, Blackgates or Polly Engineering.

Blackgates used to do graphite yarn Mike – and for PTFE "packing" yarn just use PTFE plumbers tape and twist it into "strings" if you see what I mean.
