Broken spring

I have had my Elliot Drill for some time and never had any problem at all, till now . The return spring has just broken and I have no idea where to start looking where to get a replacement from , has any one ever had this problem and managed to get a new one. If would you be so kind as to let me know where to go from here, Im lost with out it. Many thanks in advance Garry

Welcome to the Forum, there may well be someone here who can point you in a positive direction but there are spring makers who may well have an appropriate size of return spring that will fit.

You will need to strip it out and take some measurements, width, diameter of housing, method of attachment for example and use information that to track down something suitable. I doubt you can source a spare part as such

Have you looked on ebay? Various old drill springs were around a few years ago. This topic has come up before, thought might have been for Meddings.

… I have no idea whether the unidentified spare under my bench might fit an Elliot.
