      Nice solution to a problem.

The negativity is no surprise from certain quarters……

      Keep posting!

No need to go out and buy forsner bits, if you have a big old milling cutter that will work just as well.

True but with the ER 32 collet holder i am limited to 20 mm .

A lot of the rust problems are caused by touching things with your fingers and hands , i learned his from a boss i had many years ago – a toolmaker by trade and for some reason he.decided to show me his prized set  of mitutoyo gauge blocks of which i decided to pick out a block and pick it up with bare hands – shock and horror to him and i copped an earfull from him about how corrosive fingerprints are etc etc but in the long run he was right and it is something i am constantly mindful of .

I've used high density foam to make a layer to hold astronomy eyepieces – made a cutter by sharpening a 1.25" aluminium tube, bevelling it on the outside so it cut slightly undersize.

A long time ago I did similar things to a piece of old camp mat to make a holder to fit in a box for my 'ME' series dies.

My granfather's set of BA taps and dies are in a mahogany box of BH's design.

I made a mahogany box for my ME taps out of the same. (Round nose endmill to make the slots).
