      having only been in the hobby a few years i still consider myself fairly inept,so please excuse my ignorance if im being tottaly stupid in asking this question.there are a few locomotives i like in two and a half inch gauge,needless to say these are not available in five inch,so my question is,can you double the dimensions to get a five inch model? i await your answers.

          Hi John, below is an extract from L.B.S.C. on his Olympiade notes from 1938.
           

          The coupling rods on this 2 1/2 engine are 7/32 x 1/8.

          Hope this will give you some idea.
