Deburring tool

Hi.

I am hesitant about buying one of these. Are they "Noga" or can the cheap be an imitation?

Genuine Noga prices on Zoro UK for the one in the E-Bay link are, in round £, near enough £10 for the handle and £15 for the blade pack compared to £9 for both via E-Bay.

Barely 1/3rd the price.

Same thing comes up even cheaper with direct supply from China.

So knock off or "unorthorised supply". I believe the OEM is China made.

Quality of blades is what matters. That one is very much low end and won't last on anything other than benign materials. I'd want something a bit better than that. But mine is a Shaviv one.

Noga seem to be the best, and have been for many years, made in Israel I think.

I got one of the Ebay ones, it's not genuine Noga (of course) but came with a Noga box, and the inserts are Noqa branded (q not g). Having said that, it works very well, and I'm glad I bought it.

You will never know if stuff is 'genuine', whether on Ebay or Zoro etc.

I've got a Silverline one – from the name I'd guess it's cheap. But like some of their other stuff – such as taps and dies – it works well for the stuff I do.

Cutwel Tools (sales@cutwel.net) have a 2 for one "Friday Frenzy" offer on Shaviv deburring tools, handles, blades and sets today 27/03/2020. So far as I'm aware Shaviv and Noga blades with the same prefix letters are interchangeable.

So if you have a mate who also wants one.

Or if you are like me and need two to double the chances of finding one when needed!

Shaviv handles are pennies cheaper than Noga and generally a little larger which I find gives a better grip. I use the Classic A handle with the B type extension blade holder. More expensive but the variable reach comes in handy at times as does the ability to hold the blade at 90° to the tool.

Some care is needed when purchasing Shaviv holders because some are complete blade carrier handles like the Noga in the OP, but others are just a handle and need a blade holder inserted. 6 holders to choose from. Mine takes B series blades which has always been fine but were I buying again I'd probalbly splash out on the combined B & E series holder.

Cutwel Also have YG1 machine and hand taps on 2 for 1 today.

Thanks everyone for the answers, but I think that now I have more doubts than at the beginning. I just wanted to buy one of the two models I had exposed, and to know if the cheapest one would be good, or an imitation, (fake Noga). I have often bought from Arceurotrade, but since I live in Barcelona (Catalonia), ​​for a small product, I think the ports would be too high.

Got the genuine Noga its never used,total waste of time and space for deburing holes.

Continue using what i have always used the last 26 years – a knife!
