Does anyone have drawings to make a universal head for a Clarkson tool & cutter grinder?

I only have a manual for this. I’ll take a look to see how much detail there is to see if it’s feasible to make some CAD drawings. If you make patterns up I’d be interested in obtaining a set of castings. Have you looked on lathes.co.uk for info?

Bedroom Workshop is a rather good resource for Clarkson related stuff.

Copy the one for the Stent, maybe with some enlargement.

When I got mine, it came without any tooling, apart from centres, and I wanted to get it up and running with minimal effort in the short term.
My first universal head was a Landrover brake slave cylinder for the body, bolted to a piece of angle iron, with 1 1/4" Top Hat cutter holders, one for each size of shanked milling cutter.
The slaves have a machined round boss on one side for mounting on the backplate, so all it needed was the requisite hole boring in the 3" x 3" x 0.25" angle iron.

Something similar to THIS,; all I then needed was a couple of curved slots to suit the mounting studs.
Obviously the bore is already nicely finished from new.
