I need to make some bearing retainer rings for a set of BSA bike wheels, ( possibly originally B44 for a metisse build). They are just over 2 inches diameter so not critically 55 ml, – 2 ⅛ inches would do.

      I need about 6 inches.

Can anyone recommend a supplier?. Or has anyone got some they want to sell ?

      Cheers

      Nick

It would be useful to know your approximate location.

            Macc models have 2-1/2" stock….

You could try M-Machine in Darlington…

M machine are usually quite decent .. does it have to be copper? Since these are rings could cast hollow PB be used? It might reduce cost.depending on id.

A 200mm length of 55 diameter is £60 delivered – out of touch with metal prices, so don't know if that is par for the course or OTT

At those prices I would be making them out of a decent grade of aluminium. Are they like the seal retainers found in models like Ariel front and rear hubs?

Most bearing retainers I've seen have been circlips…………

Chris – thanks , good point , no idea what arials look like but the wrecked ones in are brass so I will be sticking to brass.

Bill, – not much good at keeping the mud out tho.

Thanks chaps , some good suggestions – seems the £60 isn't too bad when I will get about 6 out of it. A supplier of vintage parts is charging £20 for a single in aluminium.

If it's of any help, I've got some 3" CZ121 bar you could use How about £25 for 6" and £6.50 for Myhermes shipping?

Only because I had a B25 as a student laugh.
