I hope they are keeping going but really feel for Boxfords. A major part of their business used to be supplying schools but with modern curriculum there appears to be precious little understanding of quality and precision when it comes to crafts.
It grieves me to see high quality machines being literally thrown out and replaced by items which, quite frankly, fall into the 'toy ' league.
Fortunately we do have the benefit of the internet so this helps youngsters to discover and be inspired by engineering. What the youngsters do not get to experience is the silky smooth feel of a well built and carefully fitted piece of workshop machinery.
