Home › Forums › Manual machine tools › Boxford change wheel – bore size?
Hi
Can anyone please advise me what the bore size is on change wheels for the Boxford lathes? I know they are 18dp and I assume 14.5deg.pa, but I can't find the hole size anywhere.
Thank you
Keith
Hi Keith,
Just measured mine and the gear bore is 9/16 inch.
Many thanks for that – as far as I'm concerned that's the perfect size – means I can fit them to my lathe which is something totally different!
Keith, you are also correct to assume a pa of 14.5 degrees for the changewheels, though some fixed gearing in later models was changed to 20 deg.
Thank you for confirming the pa, that really is one of the specifications that's difficult to check – especially by just a visual inspection.
