I have had a rolling quarterly direct debit subscription to MEW, for quite a few years. It has always in the past given me access to the historic archives. After the transition last February I was pleasantly surprised to find that the roll over of my subscription into ME&W also gave me access to the ME Archives.

However today I tried to access the archives for the first time in a while only to be told “The credentials are valid, but no active subscription was found!”

Looking at the detail it seems that digital access is now an additional cost item.

When did this happen? I don’t remember ever seeing any announcement to this effect or being notified that my subscription no longer included archive access.

Given that most of the value I get from the magazine is access to the historic archives, it looks like my best bet is to transfer to a digital only subscription – which saves me money, and restores the value I got from the subscription.

      Can someone confirm this?

The credentials message is usually when something goes wrong. You should still have access if you have  a current Digital or Print Plus Digital subscription which has always been the case.  It has never been available for print only subscriptions.

If you click the red Help/FAQ button at the top of this thread and go right to the bottom there is a contacts form there for subscrption queries, fill that out and they should get you sorted.
