Air Duster

I thought an air duster would work for blowing swarf off machine tools. Wolfbox get great reviews… but quite pricey. I gambled on a cheap air duster from Amazon for £20

It worked brilliantly! But only for about 20 seconds before it sucked up a bit of swarf and jammed the fan. Luckily I managed to take it apart enough to fix. I need to fit a fine mesh filter… then I think I will have a great duster. Recommended with that one reservation.

FYI I also have an 18V dewalt blower which I use very often – absolutely brilliant. Every now and then at the end of the day I just go around the whole workshop and blow everything with it to send the dust in the air. Then I turn the Record air filter on for 1 hour and leave. It is this that really convinced me a smaller blower would be handy.

wouldnt a vacuum do both jobs???

Blowing dust (which is fine grit) into the air to land on machines doesn’t appeal. Vacuum far better

I have used a vacuum. It seems to have limitations. Maybe I don’t use it right.
