Hy everyone. My name is Sandra and my dad was an avid model engineer and made models over his life time. Sadly he has passed away and I am looking for advice as to how best sell his workshop tools. The lathe has gone to my brother but sadly neither of us have his skills to follow this hobby on.

The workshop consist of things like a milling machine, scroll saw, tap & dye sets, micrometers … the list goes on. Ive tried a local auction house who aren't that interested. Could anybody please advise how I could best sell these onto a good home?

Hers a few pics of the models I have

mmm cant seem to attach any pics?

          Sandra,

First let me offer my sympathy.

          Now:

You will need to put pictures in an Album first, then attach them from there.

There have been a couple of recent threads describing what to do.

            Sandra,

My sympathies to you and your family.

You do not state where you are located. Their maybe a member of this forum close by that could help in identifying and cataloging the equipment.

            Mike

nov 2013 040.jpgnov 2013 043.jpgThank you for your comments that's really helpful. Ive attached some photos that I have of the models but I will need to take some in detail of the tools that you may be able to help me with. Its very difficult to know what to do with a life time of dedication to model engineering.

I have also found boxes of 'Model Engineers dating back to the 1940's – may they be of some use??

I live in Tyne & Wear near Sunderland coast if that's near any members.

                my sympathies on your loss.

I suggest for help, try the Sunderland model engineering group. look up http://www.csmes.co.uk and you will find their web site. They meet at Roker Park on saturdays and sundays. I have not been to the club but have chatted to many of them at exhibitions and they're a friendly mob.
