Does anyone have experience of these 3-in-1 metal working machines offered by Machine Mart and Warco et al and looking like they plop off the same S.Asian production line. Whilst coming in various widths and comprising slip rolls, box/pan folder and guillotine with a capability of up to 1mm (in non ferrous). Usually, I stay clear of multi purpose (probably master of non) tools but I scratch model 7mm locos and need a small guillotine to cut down on piercing saw use but I do need a square and clean cut with no turn down on .020/.028 nickle silver. Any thoughts please.

I have had the axminster version for a few years now and cannot fault it. The benders bend, the guillotine cuts and the rollers roll.

As you point out above, the machine capabilities are limited to roughly 20tho guillotine cut for steel but all other features I have rolled and bent 40tho steel. I have also extensively used this machine to roll bend and cut 20 gauge copper.

I have the 12" one and have been very pleased with it – but do accept its limitations in terms of metal thicknesses.

It's main use has been to make trim panels for the engine bay of my kit car

I have been thinking about making some alternative 'finger blades' with radiused ends. This for putting right angle folds in aluminium as the sharp corners produced by the standard blades tend to crack harder grades of ally.

Has anyone done this before and if so what radius works well?

John, we used to bend up a ‘shoe’ to go on our one at work to increase the radius.

They will roll 3mm steel if only 3" wide

I make copper fuel tanks for my engines on one, copper is ex emmersion heater tank, it does all I need.
