I would like you to see my chesapeake & ohio lima greenbrier 4.8.4steam locomotive which was built by my dad 1997-2004 when unfortunetly my dad passed away. In 2003 the model was entered in harrogat model engineering exabition it could not be judged as it was not finnished.when i picked up model it had been striped resdy for finishing etc it was in lots of boxes so i put it to one side intending to finish this superb model.

In 2009 i suffered a stroke which i am now patialy sighted now so it is quite difficult for me but i intend to complete this stunning scale model.12 months ago i decided it was time to finish model as that is what my dad would have wanted. the engine was built from 3.5 gauge martin evans plans of baldwin type columbia 4-8-4 locomotive my dad scaled of pictures, books etc it has bake valve gear which was scaled of pictures etc, working steam turbine which is geared to turn 12v genrator,it has air pumps in front of locomotive which are driven by steam for the brakes,it has a larger cab than a baldwin all exterior is not baldwin but chesapeake & ohio lima greenbrier 4.8.4 no all timken bearing 605 THOS. NELSON, JR. M dad was a perfectionist so i need to carry on that way,i am luck as i built scale radio controlled models aircraft and enjoy steam. S hope you like my new thread and please let me know what you think i have some photos you can see in my gallery but plenty more to come. Tanks for looking dsc_5322.jpg Wayne

          Hi Wayne,

Beautiful locomotive! So, this is a 3-1/3" gauge loco? Where are you located? I'm always interested in watching a build thread.

          David
