      Morning all

I’ve got an older version of a Chester Champion 16VS Mill. I was having some problems with the relay tripping and now the top boards gone. Does anyone know of a plug and play control for a milling machine? Its pretty basic, spec below

      DC Motor
      0.6Kw
      50-2250 rpm
      Variable speed
      bidirectional

      Any suggestions would be appreciated

      Cheers MH

There are a lot of drive controllers round for DC motors.  The one I have on my Novamill is a KB Electronics one, not sure of the model, but seems pretty bulletproof. There are also loads of cheap options on eBay, I couldn’t vouch for any of them.  One key question is whether your motor has a wound field or permanent magnet – if the first then make sure you get a drive with an output to drive this.

          One supplier is https://www.alldrivesandcontrols.co.uk/kbelectronics
