Subscribing to Threads, how?

When I post a reply in an existing thread I tick the ‘Notify me of follow-up replies via email’ and it does work (OK-ish)

How do I subscribe to thread without actually posting a reply into that thread?

I can see ‘favourite’ and ‘follow’ buttons but they do not seem to do anything.

Ian I thought that you could just tick the box and post an empty reply, but it came up with an error when I tried it.

I think Follow at the top of the thread may do it.

I will try Jason’s suggestion (I have now ‘followed’ a thread that I am not subscribed to).

I will see what happens but I’m sure it did not work when I followed one last week.

What’s ‘Favourite’ for anyway?

if you go to your profile it will should show activity in the topics you have marked as favorites when you click “favorites”

I just tried clicking on Favourites in my Profile and I get this,

Sorry, there was no activity found. Please try a different filter.
