28° and rising in the carport today.

Yesterday it was nudging 30°.

The big fan I bought years ago is now working full time and at least working on the Austin Seven is bearable.

The carport is just too large to use the aircon unit I think, may try it to see.

Well I can see Ady lives in the soft south, but this morning had to put me vest on ! first for a week. Apologies to people in the colonies who will not know what we are on about.

31.4° in the carport today!

The same if not hotter tomorrow, so may well do some work in the newly air-conned workshop.

Been too involved taking the front bodywork of the Austin off today in preparation for engine out, as getting heat from 'Her Indoors' for lack of progress in getting 'her' car on the road.

I've forgotten when I last saw 30° in this neck of the woods.

Brighton! Lovely old original LB&SCR station.Alas all the old mechanical signal boxes and semaphore signal arms all long gone. So also most station roof canopies.
Didnt seem quite as hot here as forecast. Couldnt use workshop as “working” – being paid while sitting reading latest ME! – better than reading it at home and not being paid whilst reading it.
Guildford Xbn nxt wkend. Shame some good stand holders wont be there, e.g. Blackgates and Camden Books.

30 degrees…..you guys are a load of softies. Up here in 'Straya when I'm making composite parts (e.g. carbon fibre + epoxy) I actively look foward to the hot weather, when it's over 40 degrees in the shade, it can often be well over 50 degrees in the shed….pefect for laying up!! I have to admit that I couldn't take more than 1/2 hour over 50 though!

Very eco- conscious of you but the added benefit of course is that you will have no need to cut it! Nip off to your local Tesco, buy a large bottle of Pimms and some lemonade, and sit happily sipping in the shade!

Yesterday in north Bedfordshire it was blue sky and 31 degree's, hell, today its overcast and 18 degree's, heaven. Took me four hours to wash my van because I had to keep seeking out shade every forty minutes

Anyone experiencing really high temperatures in their workshop should make an assessment of whether any stored gas bottles , aerosols , solvents , fuels , paint and similar things are getting too hot .

Any doubt take outside and store in the shade temporarily .

26 C outside earlier but worth putting up with heat for a while just to see the Lancaster again – flew almost overhead in a wide banking turn heading for the Bay .

Yesterday we spent two hours stationary on the A74(M). A terrible accident where a Range River with three occupants somehow ran along the central barrier then hit the central bridge support head on.

Our dog, who had the heart op three weeks before found it hard going despiteconstant supply of water as the (usually reliable) car external temperature gauge crept up to 31.5 degrees it was cooler away from the car though. Teenage daughter complained that me moulding shapes in the melting tarmac with a coin was 'embarrassing'. Our 500 mile journey ended up as a 13-hour caffiene-fuelled oddessey.

On the whole, Skye was lovely all week with temperatures in the low 20s and loads of sun. For once the whole family liked the weather at the same time!

Terrible heat last night at home – my max/min which is in deep shade (never sees the sun) read 29.5.

Workshop, uninhabitable – I could put the extractor on full blast, but I'm too tired anyway.
