Hi , I,m a newie, could anyone help with screw cutting in a Warwick
Ive just bought on Ebay . Item number 140509163386 .

If you clicked on the web site mentioned and on the 2nd colour pic .

You will see my problem . I have just bought a set of Myford Change gears
      as well .

I don,t know how the arrangement is suppose to be ? the little gear on the shaft just freewheels , its not locked on to the shaft .

      Thanks Terry

Hi Terry, I presume the little gear on the extreme left, then yes I’d say it should be locked to the shaft. It may be done by a pin between the gear itself and the coller that is next to it. this may be missing or sheared. Alternativly it may just have a little grub screw inbetween two of the gear teeth which may be loose or missing.

Your Myford change gear are probally suitable but may need a hole drilled in near the shaft hole for a pin to connect them to each other, instead of using the keyway which is cut into them.

Look on http://www.lathes.co.uk web site and click on the links for the other makes he mentions in the text for the lathe you have for more info as they are all very basically the same.

          Hope This helps.

          Regards Nick.

            Hi Terry,

Lovely looking little lathe there, looks like a good buy. Sorry I can’t help as I don’t know that lathe, but as Nick says check out Tony’s site Lathes .co.uk. Here.

            Regards

              Hi Terry,

Just out of interest for you, your lathe is I believe the one that is featured in pictures on Tony’s site if I’m not mistaken. He may well have more information than we can provide. Tony is very helpful and easy to chat to if he’s not too busy.

See the link on my last posting.

              Regards

Just incase you’re still stuck with this, this is a pic of a working changewheel setup for the Warwick.
