        Hi all,

Been preparing some old vintage bicycle brakes for replating. Thought I would have a go myself with nickel or replica chrome kits you can buy.

Looking at some of the chemicals I see the supplier has classed some as hazardous waste.

Does this present a problem in disposing of them. I know we are supposedly more environmentally friendly these days, and would not think of flushing them down the drain!

So can I carry on and order a kit, or will I have to pay to dispose of it. I don't imagine there will ever be any more than 5 litres.

I live in Essex and it's the usual minefield trying to get information off the council website.

Look forward to hearing from you

        Henry

If you've got a local recycling depot, I would ask them
