      Hello all.

Need to purchase a small indexing head, looking at a 6" vertex, anyone had any experience ?

          Brian,

There has been quite a lot of discussion on this forum about the Vertex Rotary Tables.

… it appears that "product improvement" means that the older ones are a better buy

I have a Myford-branded one, with four slots that seems fine.

I have a 6" Vertex H-V table with indexing plates and tailstock, had it about 20yrs, it's been good, doesn't get much use, but great when it's needed. Ian S C

I too have an older Vertex 6" that is well made. If you need the dividing facility do consider using a stepper motor and controller, Google World of Ward, DIY rotary controller.

Here is another thread on this forum dealing with Steve Ward's indexer I have just built one after finding out from this thread that the firmware to program the microcontroller was available to download. It seems to work well.

Thanks all for your comments. I think I will try the vertex, my only worry is what the build is like on modern units,

                  have to order and see.

Very much like the idea of Steve Wards indexing unit controller, sure another project on the go will go down well..

                  Thanks again.

                    Hello All

I have just acquired a Proxxon UT360 Rotary Table and I am having difficulty finding a three jaw chuck to fit it.The instructions being in German don`t really help much. The register on the back is 62mm.I think the chuck size should be 100mm.Any info would be much appreciated. Andrew

Track down a chuck off a Proxxon PD 360 lathe and it should fit.

Faiing that turn up your own backplate to fit the rotary table and then tap to suit any front fixing chuck but better to have the direct fitting Proxxon one

                      J
