Anybody any ideas on what the item is, what was it used for and how was it used.
The squares in the background are 5mm
Tool of some kind
Its a depthing tool for checking the mesh of clock wheels and pinions and then used to mark the centers on the clock plates
Clockmakers depthing tool – for setting out the pivots of wheels and pinions.
