I am considering buying a VCGT carbide insert straight turning and facing tool in order to get into some tight corners. Can anyone help me with the size of the pointed angle of this tool?

Just Googled VCGT carbide insert angles and it came up with 35*

You won't get into tight corners using a Straight (Neutral) holder, you will need either or perhaps both RH and LH to reach all corners.

Although a handed tool is best you may be able to get into corners with a neutral if you angle the tool holder depending on the actual part..

Your tight corner will have a small internal fillet determined by the inserts corner radius, pick one with a 0.2mm radius for minimal fillet.
