Building a 5" Dean Goods to Wilson drawings- are there any magazine articles that may help me with the contruction of this loco?

hi dudley,

it is quite an early design from keith, for Kennions, and no construction series. it uses LBSC's PANSY cylinder block and valve gear so you may like to consider modifying the valve gear to correct errors perpetuated by keith.

LBSC's PANSY was described in ME 1958/9.

later on keith described in ME (circa 1997) a much more true to scale and accurate 7.25"g GWR DEAN GOODS.

A prototype which we had not previously seen
in model form was the G.W.R. “Dean Goods”
0-6-0. There were two examples, by Ted Stevenson
and Mike Spencer. We understand that these are
basically LBSC’s Pansy design, but both builders
had caught the true Great Western flavour.

Thanks for the info, I will try and do justice to Mr Deans masterpiece. I have found Richard at GLR extreemly helpful with advice and pics.
