Thought i would post some pics of my new machine …..

        Its a Super 7 from about 1965

Some work needed, mostly needs a deep clean and repaint

Will need some help to wire this up as at the moment its just on a plug !

Also on the look out for some kind of bench / stand to put it on if anyone has anything knocking about ?

        All the best Mark.

        Struggling to upload pics

Why would you want to repaint that?

                  Hi Mark,

It should be possible to insert photos from Photobucket, I hope you don't mind me displaying one of your lathe. I used the "Direct" link from the URL in your post. Congratulations with your "new" lathe.

dsc01693.jpgdsc01694.jpgdsc01691.jpgNearly finished this project , although it still needs another £100 spending on it , it never ends does it .

Very happy with it though, very little wear in it.dsc01690.jpg

Oh if anyone has any small bore c spanners i can borrow to adjust up the headstock bearings i would very much appreciate it, obviously I would pay for posting costs etc. And still looking for a dol starter for it and an oil gun !

                        Cheers Mark.

Nice machine Mark; have you considered a QCTP either a Dickson/clone or one of the AXA type?

                              That looks very smart Mark.

I agree with the QCTP Buy the post and a few holders to get you going and add others as you go along – it's only " Quick Change" if you have lots of holders!

                                  Mark,

You only really require one C spanner. You can get away with and old cycle bottom bracket spanner that can be found at car boot sales for a few pence. There is a picture of one being used on this site from Nobby I think.

Otherwise make one. A bit of marking out, chain drilling, hacksawing and filing will do it. This is what model engineering should be about – getting satisfaction from making your own tools and fixtures as the need arises.

I have a Dewhurst switch and Myford bracket (taken off my S7 when I went 3-phase which you are welcome to for nothing. But as I am disabled you would have to collect it from Henfield in West Sussex.

If it is of interest pm me and let me know.
