I've googled around but can't find the weight of the ML10.

If I take the motor and cover panels off, take off the chuck and tailstock any estimates of the remaining weight?

      TIA

      Steve

According to the sales leaflet of the time, a basic ML10 with standard equipment and no motor weighs 53 kg, the raising blocks are 4.9 kg and the motor is 11.5 kg.

I have a Speed 10 with the long bed and if you are worried about lifting the lathe that should not be a problem. I easily lifted my one with the motor and tailstock removed (mind you that was rather a long time ago ! )

I own an original plain bearing ML10 and I would agree with others that it is luggable on its own with chucks and tailstock off. You might even take the cross-slide and saddle off to gain a kg or two. I've installed mine on my own in several situations over the years and I've never had to resort to lifting equipment to help out.

To further reduce the weight, you can remove the headstock too (that' s what I did last time I moved it, though, as said, it is very manageable anyway).

On reinstalling it, the headstock locates again as precisely as before, thanks to the vee bedways.
