I have just got a set of castings for a Westbury milling machine and drawings has anyone seen a assembly book or articles as I could do with some help with the maching of the milling head ?

Hello Andrew,

I have the build notes for the Mk II Dore Westbury mill, it is a A4 booklet of about 40 double sided pages

If you would like me to get it copied for you, would you be happy to pay for that and the mailing costs? Last time I used a photocopier in town was several years ago at about 10 pence a page; what it might be today I don't know.

I expect you know that the Westbury Light Milling Machine is the precursor of the Dore-Westbury mills.

I have a set of drawings somewhere, but of more interest to you I think there is also a collection of original build notes.

I will check that out and let you know.

There are (or were) some files on the DW Yahoo group, but they seem to be invisible at present .

Hi Andrew, there are certainly drawings for the mark 2, both as pdfs and a zip folder containing the same. There also appear to be files of the ME articles covering the build as well as handbooks which I suspect cover the build and operation. So if you haven't joined that group well worth doing as I think you'll find much of the info that you want there.

As an aside I've just been on the DW group to look and haven't had any problems with test downloads of some of the files so any problems folk are having could well be local to them with their computer set-ups.

The files section on the DW Yahoo group is available again, the moderators are blaming Yahoo for the glitch.

There is a file of the construction series for the Edgar Westbury LIGHT VERTICAL MILLING MACHINE about 10th file from the end of the list. This is the one Andrew needed.
