      Good Afternoon

Is there anybody that can help with an issue I have in moving my Warco GH Milling machine. Having recently moved house I need to dismantle the X axis lead screw in order for it to pass down the side of the house and into the Workshop.

Will it be possible to remove the lead screw when the yellow handle bearing housing is taken off. Will the lead screw simply wind completely out from under the table base nut.

I have spoken to Warco and they were unsure.

      Any thoughts would be appreciated

      Peter

I think as well as what you have said you need to remove the gib strip to make it easy to remove the table and screw. I think it is necessary to lift the table slightly to remove it as I recall.

            Thanks Martin

I only want to remove the spindle not the table. Removing the spindle will give me enough clearance

If you remove the handle and the other bits attached to the leadscrew from one end you just need to undo the bearing mounting plate at the other end and take that out with the leadscrew. Don't forget to lock the table before you move it, any tilt and it could slide and upset the balance or trap fingers. Once the leadscrew is out removing the table is quite easy and would make moving the machine easier and possibly safer. It is worth considereing.

Thanks Martin for your valuable advice and time. Will make a start early next week and I will post the outcome
