Vertex Rotary Table equal 13 sectors

Hi , I Need to cut a gear with 13 teeth. I have available a Vertex H/V rotary table.

13 teeth work out at every 27.692 degrees. Any advice or suggestions on the

best plate to use please , many thanks ray

I'd guess 39 hole plate. Is the RT 40:1 worm?

Hi yes 90 to 1 ratio. IE 1 turn of crank equals 4 degrees. Thank you ray

For a 90:1 rotary table.

90/13 = 6 12/13 = 6 turns and 36 holes in a 39 hole plate.

Sounds just like the problem that I had. My Vertex HV6 chart said 30 holes; that produced some odd vgears, until I checked and found it should be 36 holes on a 39 hole plate.

? You have lost me there, please explain how you get 13 from a 65t gear wither as direct division or via a 90:1 reduction.

Martin has noticed that 65 / 13 = 5 ie. indexing on every fifth tooth will give 13 steps

Doh, lol. Of course, must be too much Christmas spirit!! Don't know how I missed that when I always calculate my own divisions rather than refer to the chart that came with the dividing fixture!
