Thanks Rod and also John for the link to the DP Knurl info. The broaching was tedious but I did enjoy the heat treating.

I really need a bigger lathe, where have I heard that before ? I wonder if Warco would take my WM180 plus a guitar in part exchange for a WM250V?

More broaching to come as each of the knobs requires an 18 tooth internal pattern to push fit onto a potentiometer. I've had a few ideas about adding a motorised unit onto the cross slide with a cranked broaching tool that could oscillate through my boring bar QCTP holder.
