I used an M16 hex socket bolt. I got it from China (probably AliExpress) although the head was a bit wonky. No problem – I faced off the bottom face of the head to make sure it was square. There is a cylindrical bush at the top of the Multifix post that I needed to bore out to 16mm to suit the Chinesium bolt.
One of the critical features is the register on the top of the adaptor that locates into the bottom of the Multifix post. If you ensure it is a tight fit in the post, there will be very little slop there. If you understand what I mean. You'd want to make sure it was also a tight fit into the top slide too – on a Bantam, there is a cylindrical feature on the top of the top slide. However, I decided to do away with the top slide for improved rigidity.
