Tubal Cain shows one in "Building simple model steam engines" part 1 and Stan Bray likewise in "Making simple model steam engines". Searching for regulator in the magazine indices might be fruitful.

My artical in the mag on the Simpson and Shipton will have a drawing of a steam valve it will be towards the end of the build.

The little taps that I have made have been ones with a tapered plug, with a transverse hole, I'v never drawn one, I just build it. I make a reamer at the same setting as I turn the plug. Ian S C
