Hi All

Has anyone managed to contact CES via E-Mail or place an order via their website without falling foul of Spam Arrest; if so what's the secret?

I've E-Mailed them with a specific query but instead of an answer I get challenged to prove that I'm not spamming them. You have to click on a link and, after that I don't know as I'm reluctant to even click the link; I've had too many virus issues in the past to risk this.

Is it just me or does this happen for everyone? I've never come across this on any other website and I'm very suspicious that I'll end up with some piece of "malicious" code on my machine.

Happened to me the first time I placed an order after they added the spam filter, give them a ring and you will be added to the approved list, after that I've not had an issue.

Spam Arrest is a well established anti spam filter software that has been in circulation for years

You might find that a lot of people are using these techniques to prevent spambots for unwanted access.

You may find it useful to use it yourself if you get the myriad of unwanted spams in your personal email accounts as many do.

I think I'll try your approach Jason.

If I can avoid "installing" any potentially malicious software on the machine it's got to be good. This is the only website that I've ever come across that requires this sort of approach.

Fortunately, I have very few problems with spam these days. In the old days, on dial-up, it was a menace but the ISP on broadband seems to have things under control.
