I have a Sino DRO on my milling machine. The last time I used it, it was functional. I went to use it today and the display on all three axis reads 000.000. When I move the quill or the table in any direction, the read out doesn’t change for any of the axis. Does anyone have any suggestions to trouble shoot this?

Apologies for stating the obvious (we have to start somewhere), but it is in ‘linear read’ mode and hasn’t been accidentally put into one of the other functions..?

I’m a novice hobbyist, (Obviously) can you tell me how to change modes?

          Thanks for your time!

Normally they are cancelled by pressing the same function button to exit..

Is there anything displayed in the ‘function’ window or is that blank?

Does the unit run through it’s ‘self-check’ sequence when initially powered up?

On my old Sino SD2 it appears that the display may be dimmed when in any mode that doesn’t read the scales. Can’t be sure this applies to everything but it’s certainly true for all the functions I’ve used.

According to Mrs Google the key presses needed to get into start up and function setting modes vary depending on which model Sino you have.  So you need to find a manual.

If its not running through its self test and start up routine properly you may have an iffy membrane switch somewhere that is still making some sort of contact. Mine doesn’t actually show anything on start up, its good 30 seconds while its  counting its chips and doing its bleary eyed in the morning thing before teh display wakes up.
