Is it me or does there seem to be a resurrection of old threads appearing of late

      Some are positively antique

There was an issue, I believe it has been dealt with wink 2

I admire the patience that somebody has actually taken the time to wade through all the old threads (maybe) in order to seek a solution to a problem………rather than to re-invent the wheel.

Given all that, time could be better spent in the workshop bashing lumps of metal into shape and abusing machinery thinking

Interestingly though, it has been fun to read some of the old posts although I cannot fathom why the originator has decided to travel this path. Go easy, no harm as been done, a few electrons have been wasted and no rules seem to have been broken.

The 'Ignore member' is still available at the bottom of postings if anybody takes offence.

Actually I wish more newcomers to the hobby would read back issues of ME while watching TV then read old threads on here. You can learn just about everything you need to know that way.

I stand corrected,in sackcloth and ashes, for Lo and Behold I am the guilty one,and as Jason B said,"He/it has been sorted"

I must say,I found some of the old posts much better than some of the new ones ! Some stuff there I never came across before, but I think I went about it in the wrong way.

But nevertheless, I think you have dealt with the situation in a good way thumbs up

                      David,

I think it,s best just to learn from these experiences and move on. Life is too short,at least at my stage it is !

If a relevant addition is made to an old thread then it will be there for others who read it later.

Can't see anything wrong with that.

A lot of the comments were not relevant.

Just to bump this up, I have deleted a few posts this morning that had been dug up from a year or so ago and posts added that were not really relevant and added nothing to the thread.

I'm sure the poster knows who he is, any more and you may get a suspension.

PS it was not the same person as last time but interesting to see who has posted on this thread now I have looked!

Yes that was one of them. I've knocked off your post from there too so the thread goes back to the bottom of the pile.

Sometimes when we delete a thread, post or advert it will still show for a while and I expect that is what happened.

                                    Hello chaps,

I think that I may have been guilty of that in the past. Sorry.

While looking for information I have found an old thread that dealt with my problem but did not have a vital piece of information so I have posed a question.

Are you saying that I should start a new thread instead please?

                                    Many thanks

                                    Andy

In that sort of case it would generally be OK though sometimes better to start a new one as a lot of users don't look at the date of posts and will start answering ones before yours when the original post may have been several years old and the problem sorted or the member does not visit the site anymore.

I also tend to let it go with first time posters, they may not understand the system, not know how to start a thread or just be a bit scared of starting one so tend to tack it onto the end of an old post.

                                      J
