Old or new type screws for Myford S7 cross slide.

For Myford S7 cross slide screws that keep the thrust pads in place, anyone know if the new dog point and square head types are interchangeable? Any advantage for the newer type? Anyone know what size hex the new type takes?

The thread is still the same, your choice of head.

I ditched the square head type long ago because using a Cap Head or Socket head is so much easier, specifically when the topslide is over the top of it!

I changed my square head type a long time ago, like Kwil,, as socket types are so much easier to use, especially with a long ball end hex key.

I don't know what Myford offer, I changed mine for standard socket head screws, cap head type would take a bigger key.

The old ones still sit on a shelf by the lathe!

I believe they (Myford) might sell socket heads. What size hex are yours?

Just another size to add to my never ending collection of different size tools for my Myford!

I used dog point socket screws, the hex key required is 3/16". The thread of the screws is of course 3/8" BSF.

Probably got them on ebay, GWR Fastenings maybe, not from Myford.
