Not Sure If Right Section, But Message Replies??

How do I reply to private messages on here, please?

I have received a message, actually repeated, and I typed a reply but seemed unable to post it.

The “send right now” phrase doesn’t seem to send anything.

I pressed “Submit”, as I think it’s labelled, but nothing seemed to happen.

Eventually the message list even showed I’d not read the original!

 

So I have no idea if it went or not.  (I’ve also noticed this site runs very slowly. I don’t know what’s clogging up, possibly too many “up-dates” on my PC generally.)

Below the message is a box much like you get in a thread on the forum. Type your reply in the box and click the orange “send Reply” which is just below the box

Ah, ‘Send Reply’. I misquoted the label.

Well, that’s what I thought and I did click that but nothing seemed to happen.

I’ve just gone back and found the “Sent” list which does show I had replied.

So I did the right thing but had expected some sort of acknowledgement from the system.

Before the switch from the old forum one used to get an email if someone sent one a pm. I’ve just noticed someone sent me a pm on 23 Dec, he’ll be thinking I’m an ignorant so anx so for not replying.

Just like the old system you have to tick the box to get email notifications.
