Hi, I am Mike Munson, retired Naval Architect and Marine Engineer. My interests include building a model of a 18c warship, a scratch model of a beam engine to work on the Cornish Cycle, and generally mucking around in my workshop.

Hi welcome to the forum. What machinery do you have as you are a retired naval and Marine engineer you may have different tooling to other menbers. Also a rough idea of your location helps with local suplies etc.

Welcome aboard shipmate. Have you seen the book, The Anatomy of Nelsons Ships by Longridge ? I bought it thinking it would be about the real ships ! It turned out to be the most detailed book on the making of a fine detailed model of HMS VICTORY – never the less a very interesting book to read. You will be amongst friends !
