Shop made Clutch

Hello John S. If you send me a PM with your address I'll send you a copy. My friend and I made ourselves one each several years ago and both are still working. One thing I/we found was the clutch leather initially slipped a bit, then some one suggested we dribble a bit of Violin resin between the faces, after that, no problem. I can't remember the issue number but I have all the early ones with all the instruction in, so can find out. l will enclose a copy of that as well ,when I locate it . John

The preceding posts raise interesting thoughts on the "best" material for clutches. I'm unsure what material the leather would be mated with but there's sure to be a difference between iron and steel. Oddly the clutch on the Mk1 Super 7 mates iron with iron. Any thoughts?

Going by the abysmal performance of a steel brake drum [on a Vincent Comet], compared to the iron ones, I would almost certainly choose iron.
