Ml10 oilite bush

Had a little accident with my ml10, hit the stop and now the leadscrew is tight and hard to turn from the oilite bush end.

Going to take the leadscrew out tomorrow and check it but I want to change the bush whilst the thing is stripped. What's the best way to remove and replace the bush? Is it just hit with something heavy or more technical?

Is it in a blind hole, if yes make or find a piece of bar that is a good fit in the bush, fill the bush with grease and push the bar into the bush and give it a sharp tap and the grease should push the bush out, or use a junior hacksaw blade and split the bush, dont forget to tape the part of the blade you hold.

It's in an open ended hole. Good shout on splitting it.

The right hand end lead screw bush is retained by a Mills pin which must be removed first. The left hand one is a simple press fit – at least mine does not have a retaining pin. You need to make a stepped drift to remove and refit them. With respect – just stop, have a good look at it, and think, before you start sawing, hitting and splitting.
