Mauser micrometer with a sticky thimble

Does anyone have one of these Mauser mechanical micrometers (or even better, a service manual or diagram?) It’s a really lovely piece of kit – an absolute pleasure to use – but it’s got a couple of problems – the thimble has a sticky spot once a revolution and the locking ring doesn’t lock.

I’d love to get it working properly, but I suspect the internals will be significantly more complicated than normal, so knowing more about what’s inside before small bits go pinging across the workshop would probably be sensible

I think this thread may be of use to you; I don’t have a counting micrometer to that design.
If the digits are just painted on, rather than paint in an engraving, be very careful with it.
Some time ago I bought a nice looking Borletti which had painted digits on plastic wheels.
Just the vibration in transit caused most of the paint to fall off.
I then spent many happy hours trying to print the 0-9 digits in a spreadsheet column to exactly the correct length.
Setting cell size, print size and printer magnification took ages, particularly since the normal printer paper is a different thickness to the self adhesive polyester paper.
