material for eccentric

will brass on cast last for a 2" water pump eccentric – gunmetal is very costly?

Hi Nigel ,

Brass strap on cast iron eccentric is not a good combination .

Brass strap on polished steel eccentric would be reasonably ok .

If you already have the eccentric made in cast iron then a cast iron or mild steel strap would be best choice .
