      @gray62

      Is it just me or is the cover picture of the latest issue an exact copy of issue 172 ?

      Is it also just a weird coincidence that the number sequence 271 is a reversal of 172 ?

      Has the editor run out of decent cover pictures?

            machining a big bit of metal like that takes a long timesmile p

            Text is also the same by the looks of it.

            At least the mystery tool was an easy one to identify.

              It's not practical for me to check if every article is truly unique, if I get sent one I assume its novel unless there is something familiar about it. It appears that the author was either unaware or forgot that the article had been published in 2011 and sent it to me in 2017.

              With this one the shot in question is an obvious choice for a cover too.

                Interesting to read in the same issue that Percival Marshall died in 1948 and that 2018 is the 60th anniversary of his death??

                  To adapt an old aphorism:

                  Calculate twice … Print once

                    I shouldn't have reprinted a Scribe a Line from 2008…

                      There is an upside to this: I first read that in the early hours and for a while it had me thinking I was 10 years younger.😉

                        I'm sorry but I think you have that wrong – Shouldn't it be 'measure twice, cut once – then force it to fit??'
