How to hold large bore copper in the mill?

I have some precision boring to do in a piece of 6" dia copper tube. I dont have room for vee blocks so wondered what you would do to locate it securely without the risk of distorting or damaging it?

Cut a couple of cradles from MDF or ply. Basically a 6" hole cut in a square sheet that is easily done on a faceplate then saw in half. Stand one half on mill table, put tube onto that and then the other halves and clamp those down, the small saw curf will give enough gap so they grip cut as they contact all round the tube it won't crush.

If there is not room for clamps then drill and counter bore teh lower halves to suit your tee slot spacing. and screw top half to bottom
