Gentlemen, I am only a novice, and have previously only made a small wobbler, but today i powered my Stuart v10 for first time and she runs well on only small air supply. Just had to share this moment as "her in doors" just said "very nice but what does it do". Biggest mistake I made was when starting to assemble I dropped the standard which shattered into several bits.

Congratulations Colin – but now you've got to post a picture!

One chap wrote to ME to say he showed his wife his lathe in action, and she said what do you do with all those little curly things?

            Hello Gents.

A friend has acquired a Synchrome master clock and several slave clocks. He would like to convert the slave clocks into `stand alone ` clocks. Does anyone know of a suitable battery powered electronic circuit for this purpose.

John what has clocks got to do with this thread or am I missing something.

I have tried on many occasions to explain to SWMBO the ins and outs of building a traction engine (or two cool) and the tooling requirements, expenditure etc surrounding those activities.

She now does not even venture into the workshop and if I am required on the phone, I get a shout from the workshop door – 'I'm not coming in but so-and-so wants to talk to you'

What a great life being a model engineer wink

If I buy something, I now get the reaction – very nice dear, but rarely get asked 'how much was it?' or 'what does it do'

But then I do acknowledge her indulgence in jewellery, and trust me, I could have equipped a very nice workshop over the years – but would have been a very lonely man sad such is the acceptance of married life.

I don't care if she doesn't know 'what it does' I don't see any more use for a diamond than for truing up my grinding wheels – but then who am I to question LOL
