Just out of interest, what was the thread at the back of the chuck machined to before you tapped it out 14 mm?

I like ur idea BUT unless it's the vari speed model it's just to fast for anything bigger than 5mm…….the vari speed is used by a few stonemasons I know…..not much need woith steel…….

in steel or ally bit to dangerous…..

It was only when I saw you using a drill bit at the end of the video that I realised the purpose.

From the thread title, I thought you were going to use a mounted stone point and use it for grinding the inside of some lathe chuck jaws, using it as a toolpost grinder.

I've done that with the motor off a Bosch POF 500a router, fixed in the toolpost on my Myford.
A cheal old router, but with a removable motor unit on a standard 43mm collar.

Useful for drilling joists where you have to get in a space too narrow for a normal drill.

Drill chucks are available for most brands of angle grinder. One of the main uses I'v managed to find is drilling holes in logs to inoculate the log with mushrooms, as used in that form of mushroom farming.

Ahh ok I haven't drilled joists so not come across that requirement and I suppose being able to remove the chuck easily will be useful should the grinder function be needed.
