        Are Camdenmin still trading?

        I placed an online order 5 weeks ago and haven't heard anything.

        Logging on to my account shows the order is unfullfilled.

        I've rang twice and emailed but no response.

        I paid with credit card so after 5 weeks I think it's time to claim my money back? Anyone else had problems with Camdenmin?

          I received one of their "flyer" emails only the day before yesterday. I once had a very long wait for a couple of books, that although shown in stock, had to be reordered from the USA.

          I think you just have to be patient, they have always delivered.

            They still seem to be posting things on Facebook etc.

              I to are receiving emails but I find Camden a very difficult company to deal with sometime you get your goods within a couple of days other times they go to pot I have in the past had to raise a paypal complaint due to none delivery and failure to communicate.

                I agree with Harry, great range of books but the service is very variable, sometimes excellent, other times nothing arrives for ages. I understand that sometimes things go out of stock, but a courtesy email would be helpful.

                  I agree, they have a really amazing range of books and other products. I'm was tempted to spend more money with them… But, now I'm not so sure.

                  Harry, how long did you wait before raising a paypal complaint? And did that action elicit a response?

                    Mark if memory serves me I think 'they ' are given seven days in which to resolve the matter, in my case a refund was made but with no explanation or apology ! But give them a go but use paypal for insurance. For the record I have made a purchase since my hic cup and all was fine.

                      Mark – same thing happened to me. Ordered two books. One came straight away, the other took about six weeks. The variable lead times are all down to the current Covid restrictions. The book that took six weeks was due to Camden running out of stock and the publisher having reduced staffing levels to fulfill orders. Camden are having the same issue with staff numbers in the office.

                      In my case I sent an email inquiry to Camden. I got a timely response explaining the above.

                      Camden are still trading and have usually been pretty prompt with their orders in the many years I have been buying from them.

                      The current restrictions are causing bottle necks in the supply chain especially with the smaller publishers.

                        Well… I received an email with a "Your order is on the way" and my Camdenmin account shows my order is fulfilled. But when checking the shipping information it shows " we’re getting it ready. Come back to this page for updates on your shipment status."

                        I realise things are different this year and that orders may take longer but I've still received no replies to my phone enquiries (I did leave an answer phone msg) and emails. It would be nice to receive one response to my order status enquiry.

                        Oh well, it'll be interesting to see how long delivery takes!

                        In the meanwhile I bought the Rob Roy castings from that auction site (2 days ago) and have received a nice msg from the seller and another msg telling me it'll arrive today or tomorrow…

                          Which auction site? eBay? Why the reluctance to name them?
